Deep Dives are Weaving Intelligence’s in-depth investigation series — multi-article examinations of a single hard problem, released as a complete package: four core investigation articles plus a Wrapper that frames the series.

How they work

  • A new Deep Dive package publishes every third Friday (roughly seventeen packages a year) — alongside that Friday’s regular article, never in place of it.
  • The Wrapper publishes openly — the framing and the argument, free to read like everything else.
  • The four core investigation articles open with a free account — the ask is an email address, and the link arrives there. You can also ask for the whole package by email below.

Why an account and not a paywall

A Deep Dive is a sustained piece of work, and we would like to know it reached someone who actually wanted it. So the ask is an email address, not a card — nothing is held back for payment, and there is no tier to be on.

An account is not a mailing list. Signing in to read a Deep Dive subscribes you to nothing — the newsletter is a separate choice you make yourself, on a separate page, and the setting that would have opted you in automatically is switched off on every one of our newsletters. You will be asked for your address once; after that your browser stays signed in, which is the only thing we store on it.

Being honest about what this is: it is a courtesy gate, not a vault. A signed-in reader can copy an article anywhere, and we would rather say so than imply a protection that is not there. What it does buy is that the work reaches people rather than crawlers, and that we know it reached someone. See the Privacy Policy for what your address is used for.

Request a Deep Dive

Two fields. The package arrives at the address you give us, and nothing else happens with it — no list, no marketing platform, nothing you did not ask for. If you want the newsletter too, that is a separate choice you make yourself.

What happens to what you just sent

It becomes two emails. One is the package, addressed to you and to nobody else. The other is a note to a person here, so we know the work reached someone. There is no CRM and no marketing platform behind this form — nothing to be scored, segmented, or sold, and nothing you are enrolled in without choosing it. The privacy policy spells out exactly what the note contains, and it is enforced in the code, not just promised in the copy.
